DESCRIPTION:EVENT INFORMATION\n\nOpening Round: Karratha Yara Burrup Classic –\nDampier Foreshore\nSaturday 10 September 2022 \nDistances available: 200m\, 500m\, 1.25km\, 2.5km & 5km \nOnce again the OWS Series is excited to be returning to Karratha for the start of the 2022 OWS Series. \nJoin us for what will be a exciting day of swimming at the Dampier Foreshore. \nProudly presented by YARA\, City of Karratha & 02 Marine \n \n \n \n  \nTime to Event\n\nImportant Information!\nHow to Register!\nRegistration are open now! Click here to register via register now! \nRegistrations are open right up until 30mins before the first event\, when late registrations and distance changes close. Registering late will incur a late fee so make sure you get in early. \nOWS Membership!\nSign up as a OWS member for as little as $50 to gain access to exclusive discounts on rounds\, group bookings and series swimming. \nHow do I change my distance\nNote: Changes to race distances can be made online up to one day before the event.  It is recommended if you wish to change your distance to do so as early as possible to avoid queues.\nStep 1. Click here \nStep 2. Enter the email that was used to register for swim \nStep 3. Select the event you wish to change the distance and click the “Access” link. \nStep 4. Scroll down to the Event heading and click the green “Edit” button. \nStep 5. Select your desired distance and click the green “Continue” button and follow the prompts through to the end. \nNote that there is a $2 charge to make alterations so we recommend only changing when you are sure of your choice”[/expand] \nRace Tattoos\, Timing Chips and Caps.\nIf you are a OWS\, Masters or Public Swimmer.\n\nYou will receive two individually numbered race tattoos. These need to be applied to the outside of each of your arms. You will also receive a timing chip that is placed on your wrist and a coloured  swimming cap based on the distance you are swimming. (See wave times for more information)\n\nIf you are a SWA Member.\n\nYou will receive a a set of six tattoos. You need to be apply 2 tattoos to your shoulder blades\, arms and wrists. You will also receive two timing chip that is placed on your wrist and a coloured  swimming cap based on the distance you are swimming. (See wave times for more information)\n\nHow to apply your Tattoos\nNo need to wait in line\, you can apply the tattoo yourself:\n1. Separate tattoos\n2. Remove plastic coating\n3. Apply to arm with logo at the top of the arm as pictured below\n4. Apply water for 1min (wet cloth is best) or until soaked through\n5. Slowly remove paper \nNote: Make sure to apply the race tattoo before your sunscreen. \n02 Marine:  \nSwimming WA is once again proud to be partnering with 02 Marine. In 2021 Swimming WA commemorated the life of Matthew Porter who tragically lost his life at Hearson Cove in 2019. DESCRIPTION:Proudly presented by\n \nand supported by\n       \n                                                         \n \n  \nRound Cancelled\nDue to the current situation in Western Australia and the State Government’s lock down\, Swimming WA has elected to cancel this Sunday’s Harvey Dam Open Water Swim.\n\n\nFebruary is already a very crowded month for open water swimming and for this reason we will not be postponing the Round.\n\n\nAll swimmers currently registered for the Harvey Dam Swim will receive full refunds for this Round.\n\n\nWe wish everyone all the best and we hope the lock down remains short.\n\n\nGood luck to everyone who is registered in other open water events and for now we look forward to seeing you all at our Series Finale – The Marina Swim.\n\n\nSwimming WA staff are following the WA State Government instructions and are staying home.\nIf you do have any questions please email (ows@wa.swimming.org.au) as we are unable to answer the office number at this time.\n\n\n\nStay home and stay safe!\n\n  \n
