What made you sign up for your first open water swim?
When I started swimming competitively in the pool with South Shore Swim Club I wondered if there was a way to swim competitively in the ocean. We asked some club members and they told us about OWS and Mum went online and signed me up for my first open water swim!
Favourite swimming memory?
Finally learning how to blow bubbles and put my head under the water!
What are you looking forward to in the upcoming season?
Getting new PBs and meeting new friends.
Do you swim by yourself or with others?
My first swim was with my Dad because I needed a chaperone, but I will be swimming by myself and also with SSSC.
What’s your favourite hobby outside of swimming?
Definitely netball, I play with Saint Christopher’s and this season we won our grand final in first division.
What do you do to relax?
To relax, I read in my hammock or listen to some music.
What are your goals with open water?
To build up to swimming 5km competitively.
How do you prepare for open water swims?
I am currently training 8 hours a week in the pool. I always make sure I get a good nights sleep and then I stretch and warm-up just before I swim.
Where is you dream swimming destination?
My dream swimming destination would be in Fiji because I would really like to see the tropical fish and coloured coral.
