Round 4 - Champion Lakes
Home to one of WA’s premier Open Water venues and held in conjunction with the 2013 State Open Water Championships, the Champion Lakes event is a great opportunity to get a taste of elite Open Water swimming alongside the best in WA.

1.25km, 2.5km, 5km & 10km
Cut-off time for 10km swimmers
The cut-off time for swimmers competing in the 10km event is 4 hours.
Timing Badge & Cap Pickup
Pre-registered competitors - Timing badge & cap collection will be open between 8:00-9:30am
Late registrations - A limit of up to 25 late registrations will be accepted on the day between 8:00-9:15am. Please note that a late entry will incur a fee of $20 on top of normal entry price.
During this process competitors will have their race numbers marked on their arms by our officials.
Note: These times will be strictly adhered to. If you arrive after the respective cut-off times you will not be allowed to race.
This is a water safety issue and is taken very seriously
Swimming WA will have support craft and personnel on the water and on the shore. We thank our partners; Surf Life Saving WA who provide equipment and staff to help us here.
To swim in a Swimming WA Open Water Swim Series event there are no restrictions on swimwear.
However if you are a Swimming WA member and wish to use your time to qualify for Nationals then you must adhere to Swimming Australia (SAL) Open Water By-Law 7 on swimwear. Please view here.
Event Start Time
First Time Series Swimmers automatically become an Open Water SWA member and gives you a $10 discount for future Swimming WA Open Water rounds.
However, If you are already a registered Swimming WA Member you can't registrer yourself as a first time series swimmer. You automatically go to the Swimming WA Member selection and have the discount provided.

Entries close at 5:00pm Wednesday 11th December 2013
The top three place getters in each age and gender category for each distance will be awarded medallions.
Spot prizes will also be presented throughout the event.
- All events will be using electronic timing
- 10km swim times can be used for Rottnest Chanel Swim qualification
- 5km & 10km times can be used for qualification in the Australian Open Water Swim Championships
Eligible Age Groups
1.25km Minimum age: 11yrs of age on day of competition
2.5km Minimum age: 12yrs of age on day of competition
5km Minimum age: 12yrs of age on day of competition
10km Minimum age: 13yrs of age on day of competition
